"Through photography I look to document the moments, people and places that make up the world around me. As a New Afrikan (Black) growing up in Berkeley I have seen so much of what was formative, loved and familiar to me disappear. I see photography as a means to pay homage to life around me, it allows me to remind myself and communicate to others that "this is special".
A large part of my art revolves around documenting the organizing of @peoplesprograms and its work toward New Afrikan (Black) liberation but it is equally important to me to document the beautiful relationships, nature, hardships and endurance that I see on a daily basis. I want my work to inspire curiosity in its viewers - whether that be to start organizing, to go explore, or simply to call a loved one. I want it to remind you of the world that's out there."
